Was stuff just cooler back then? Gas pumps (and global temperatures) certainly were. Or maybe this old pump just evokes warming, romantic notions of simpler, more carefree times. There were certainly fewer people then. I look forward to the day when all petroleum pumps are rendered equally charming and harmless.
