Common Palumbus
I am grateful that wood pigeons (Columba palumbus) are so common – at least in some parts of the world. I am particularly grateful that this one sat still long enough on a headstone outside St. John the Baptist Church on Uxbridge Road, with the lightest of rains falling, for me to take its picture with my not-so-long lens.
Common though they may be, I find even the most common of birds often appear uncommonly beautiful.
